Writing Your Genealogy Special Interest Group (Special Interest Groups)

The NHG Writing SIG (Special Interest Group) is a gathering of genealogists who encourage each other to record and share their family stories and histories. The group meets each month (usually taking a summer break) at the Shaler North Hills Library at 4:00 pm in the conference room of the Shaler North Hills Library. The address is 1822 Mt Royal Blvd, Glenshaw, PA 15116.

Join fellow NHG members on a tour of the Carnegie Library’s newly renovated Family and Local History Department for our Holiday Social on December 7, 2024. Please arrive between 10:45AM and 11:00AM as our tour will begin promptly at 11:00AM.
An optional lunch will be available following the tour.
The Library’s Family and Local History Department is the place to go to research your family tree or delve into the history of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County and the rest of the Keystone State. The Department’s extensive resources on genealogy and Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania history include historic collections of more than 100,000 negatives and prints, which provides a visual history of our city from its origin through its industrial development and renaissance. As subject specialists, the Family and Local History Department staff is always available to answer questions, provide research guidance and recommend and assist in finding materials.
